This was a great experienceworking on the case, learning the strengths of my team members, facing my public speaking fears, learning from the other teams and their approaches, meeting amazing people...so thank you for giving me this once in a lifetime opportunity!
- Emily Kaehler, MBA Candidate, Class of 2016, Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University
Reading the raw case format and figuring out what's important and what's not while answering the question was a real challenge - I have never thought as hard and as critically in my entire MBA experience. Win or lose, the Competition has been the highlight of my MBA.
- Albert Tam, MBA Student, Wilfrid Laurier University, School of Business and Economics
It was exciting to discuss our recommendations with other MBA students and the judges to gain additional perspective, and it was such a pleasure to see an idea that was produced in a small corner of the Mendoza College of Business reach such a wide audience. It was the most gratifying experience of my MBA experience.
- Mathew Ashley, MBA Student, Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business
Participating in the Aspen Case Competition was an exceptional learning experience. The Yale case was complex and challenging and the competition itself was exceptionally well run. Working on a real world problem and having the opportunity to present our recommendation to the judges in New York, as well as to Dr. Manrique of San Miguel, was the highlight of my MBA experience.
- Valen Boyd, MBA Student, Wilfrid Laurier University, School of Business and Economics
The Aspen Case Competition was the absolute greatest part of my entire MBA experience. Our goal as a team on Friday night was to deliver the absolute best presentation we could - and we did! The minute we finished speaking, we knew that we had nailed it, and we were so proud of our performance. We knew the judging was out of our hands, but we felt like we had achieved our ultimate goal. To hear our names called as the 2nd place team was just the icing on the cake! That was a moment I will never forget.
-Christy Calabro, Student, Villanova School of Business

The Aspen International Case Competition was an amazing and wonderful opportunity for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the rich and complex analysis that the case required. -Rohit Deshpande, Sebastian S. Kresge Professor of Marketing, Harvard Business School
On behalf of my team, I wanted to say a big thank you for organizing the Aspen Case Competition. I was pleasantly surprised by the case topic. It was certainly relevant to contemporary issues facing business and society, but more importantly it was similar in size and scope to ones students will soon be facing in their professions upon graduation. I was also genuinely impress with the Yale-written case study used in the competition. The information provided was robust and relevant to a good analysis. And the videos, external links, and extra resources really helped put everything into a real world context.
-Nicholas Fusso, MBA Student, The Drucker School, Claremont Graduate University

-Mary C. Goss, Senior Director, MBA Program at Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business
The 2010 business school case competition was an uplifting event from all perspectives. The excitement and engagement of the students, the audience and the panel was palpable, and indicative of the growing support for the kinds of business judgment and principles that the Aspen Institute Business and Society Program is working so hard to make standard practice. Congratulations, too, to the organizers for selecting The Tata Group, an extraordinary company from India that makes the strongest case there is for financial and social sustainability. They have demonstrated how it is done for 142 years.
-Ann Graham, Contributing Editor, strategy+business and Editorial Director, Conscious Capitalism Institute
To be part of the Aspen Institute's Business & Society International MBA Case Competition is a great honour and an experience I highly recommend. The 2012 case study on Walmart de Mexico was exhilarating to analyse and a lot of fun to report on. I had an enriching experience to synergise ideas and synthesise recommendations from different professional and cultural viewpoints within my team. I particularly enjoyed the focus on sustainable practices as we had to address the social, ethical and environmental issues, which are important challenges faced by business leaders today. My team and I were humbled to make it to New York City, a personal goal of mine. It was a privilege to meet the other professional contestants and honourable guests and judges, some of whom I remain in contact with. I wish the Aspen Institute continued success and thank you for this unforgettable learning journey. I will take the fond experiences and learnings from this fantastic real-life challenge as I continue my Masters in Business Leadership (MBL).
- Harpal Gubner, MBL student, Curtin University, Graduate School of Business (Perth, Western Australia)

The Aspen Institute Business and Society Case Competition is a great addition to the learning environment for graduate business students. The case itself was complex and did a great job of challenging students to integrate core business skills with issues around sustainability and corporate social responsibility. The internal competition is lively and provides multiple teaching opportunities for faculty.

My whole experience with the Aspen Case Competition was fantastic. I'll never forget how much fun my team had working on the case, or how shocked we were to be sitting on a plane to NYC just a few weeks later! Thank you so much for showing emerging business leaders that it pays to consider the triple-bottom-line.

Participating to the Aspen Institute Business & Society competition turned out to be an fantastic adventure. Having to put together a report within 72 hours on a very complex case is a tough challenge and what makes it different is that it deals with a real company and a real issue. For our team, travelling to New York was unexpected and turned out to be a once in a lifetime experience. The presence of the company at the final round made it all the more exciting as well. Thank you for providing us this great opportunity, I would encourage any student around the world to participate in the future.
- Thierry Morel, MBA Student, Curtin University, Graduate School of Business (Western Australia)
